Well, here we are again in Nappannee, IN at the Gulf Stream plant. We came out to have the interter fixed as one of the relays in the new inverter is bad. Also need to have some paint looked at that have over spray that is under the clear coat.
As you can see above, their are a few coaches here. Our coach is the one in the middle. Not sure why they are all here as they could be here for service like us, or just stopping by as Gulf Steam allows for use of the parking area.
Brenda drove most of the way this trip. She did very well and went though high winds, rain, city expressway. OH YES!!! Also toll booths! She really has yet to try “around town” driving as she driven mostly express way. But she will get to it and guessing she will do quite well.
All in all, we are here now and we will see what tomorrow holds for the paint to be looked at and also the inverter being fixed.

Arrived back in Nappannee
Posted on July 26th, 2009 by DavidNow back home…No Issues!
Posted on July 6th, 2009 by DavidJust a quick note to say we made it back home without issue. We went right though US Customs without a hitch. Did not need to pull over or get x-rayed or anything like that. We were actually shocked as we do seem quite out of place to be in a coach like this. I mean, we are young when it comes to people that are usually in such rigs.
Also no issues with the coach itself for really the first time! Yeah. (Yet we still have an inverter issue with auto starting and stopping the generator. We also noticed paint over spray on the windshield from the paint work that was done by Gulf Stream. We will be going back to Indiana to get these resolved.)
Our next quick trip however we are looking to just go about 1.5 hours away back to Sodus Point. However, this time we are looking to try to bring all 4 of our cats!!! This is a test run of sorts to see if we can travel with 4 cats and a dog. If we feel we can handle it, we will be off for the winter. Like Nov – May. That would be quite the thing as is after all, why we purchased the coach. To see the states.
So, subscribe to the blog and keep tabs are we venture into the world of traveling with a full coach. ;) (That should be interesting to say the least.)
New Family Photo
Posted on July 5th, 2009 by David
So how do you like our new family photo? Is it just me or can you see the big smile on Tasha’s face too?
So today was an adult day. By that I mean us adults got to pick the activities instead of the kids. Joe, Lynn and the kids went to Boldt Castle today. David and I decided to stay behind and have a quiet day. The KOA that we are staying at has miles of hiking trails. So we took our 13 year old girl for a hike. She did really well. Here are some pics.
When Joe and the gang came back, they all could use some down time. Here David and Joe are enjoying some kid free time.
Little Mikey wants to use the internet, so Lynn has to help him get online. What has camping come to when you have to go online?
All in all…we’re having fun. Kids are going swimming now and us adults are enjoying the sunshine while it lasts. With Tasha in tow, we’re heading up to the pool deck.
Friends make the 4th a bang!
Posted on July 5th, 2009 by David
What can we say, July 4th with friends, more like family, while in Canada is a night like no other for us. To be able to just enjoy time like this, with friends you are close with, is truly one of the reasons we are so happy with our choice of purchasing a coach vs. a vacation home.
We will let the photos taken on July 4th speak for the most part. We are with the Furno’s… Joe, Lynn, Amanda, Courtney, & Michel. Of course Tasha is with us and was not left out of this wonderful day.
It’s Ice-cream Social Time!
Payback is great from our last trip!
What’s Tasha looking at so intently? Ah! A new friend!
Time For The Campfire!
And of course a camp-fire song!
What you can not hear is another campsite responded with the song of course making it “campsite #2”. The girls got so excited. :)
Our Water Filters?
Posted on July 4th, 2009 by David
Had a request come in, actually a few, asking what I did for water connections to the coach. Well, their it is. It consists of a pressure monitor, an carbon filter, and then a water softener. It is SO NICE to have soft water for showers and it will help the coach fixtures, pump, etc from build up.
The water softener is The WaterStick ($120). It is a home made type solution from an RV’er, Rick, that just wanted a easier solution other much higher price softeners that do the same thing. Well, he turned it into a business.
It may not look like much, but at our current location, based on the hardness test, we can produce 225 gallons of software before recharge! But the best part of this unit is the process for the recharge. More or less, mix two cups of table salt with 1/2 gallon water, cap one end, poor in saltwater mix, shake, wait 30 minuets or more, flush. Done! You can also just add the mixture and then put caps on both end and let it recharge when travel. Just flush when you get to your next stop before hooking to your coach. So you are always ready for soft water! SIMPLE!
The rest of the filter system is what is in the coach itself. The Everpure water filer for the entire coach and then the filter that is in our fridge.
Their you have it.
Our Friends Arrive!
Posted on July 3rd, 2009 by David
Brenda here. So our friends arrived safe and sound…and wet. Yup, we had sunshine and a nice breeze this morning. Then Joe and Lynn arrived and DOWNPOUR!
They spent about 2 hours with us inside our coach with the kids. We did lunch and watched some TV.
They then decided to take the kids down the road to a Walmart until it stops raining. That way they can set up there camper later, when the rain slows down. No sooner do they get 10 minutes down the road and the rain stops! David and I made a bet that when they get back it’ll start raining again.
Well, we won that bet. When they got back to the campground it was raining again. They bit the big one and decided to set up. No sooner do they start setting up their camper, the rain falls harder and faster. Another downpour! I think David is laughing a little to much (in the above photo) watching them set up in the rain. I think from now on, we go camping by ourselves. Here’s a video that David shot as the downpour slams down on them.
Joe and Lynn, we love ya. But come on with the rain guys! It puts a serious damper on things. (No pun intended!)
