Our Rig Still At The Fairgrounds After The FMCA Western Area Indio Rally.

Our Rig Still At The Fairgrounds After The FMCA Western Area Indio Rally.

Well…It’s been a while. We are still saddened by our loss of Tasha, as we will be for quite a while. But the world has not stopped turning. Just ours.

We are trying to keep ourselves busy in this sad time.

The Western Area FMCA Rally in Indio, CA ended last Saturday, January 15th. People usually stay around until Sunday. Then the mass exodus happens. We were staying until Monday. The vets office we took Tasha too said that we would be able to pick her up on Sunday. Not knowing what time Sunday, we decided to hang out. Plus, who felt like driving?

So we set up our chairs in front of our rig and watched as everyone jockeyed for position. It was pretty interesting.  When the people left the area that had electricity, their was another rig just waiting for that spot.  The few people that did stay an extra night all moved up from the dry camping area, to the electric or full hook-up area.  We were already in the electric area, so we just stayed where we were.

After most people left on Sunday, we went to go pick up Tasha.  Then, instead of going back to the rig, we decided to keep busy and go to lunch and go Geocaching.

We saw Shields Date Garden just up the street and decided to go there for lunch.

What a cute place.  When you step inside, you feel like your stepping back in time.  Shields Date Garden has been around since 1924 and still hand picks and sorts all the dates they grow.

It’s an interesting place to visit if you are in the area.  They even have Date Milk Shakes.  We are not a big fan of dates, so we wanted chocolate milk shakes.  Believe this…no chocolate, just vanilla.  Chocolate would have made the day better.  Oh well.

So Monday we left the fairgrounds.  It was difficult.  We didn’t have any plans until Saturday when everyone is meeting up in Quartzite, AZ.  So we went all of 3 miles to the Motorcoach Country Club Resort, still in Indio, CA. We decided to treat ourselves to some luxury.  Boy does this place have it! I’ll write more about it in our next post.
