So we just got back from our Home Theater Cruise. For those of you who do not know what that is, shame on you. Kidding. Home Theater Cruise is a company that we founded back in 2002. Once a year we hold technology conferences, all about home theater, aboard a cruise ship. Not only is it a great venue, as all your lodging, food and entertainment is provided by the ship, it’s also a way for end users to get together with dealers, manufacturers and reps and ask questions. It’s a great opportunity to see what is up and coming. This year’s cruise was mostly focused on the 3D technology that is fairly new to the home market.
The cruise went very well. We sailed the Norwegian EPIC which had such wonderful staff aboard the ship, they made our event run smooth. We’re very thankful for that. On top of our technology conferences, we also like to close out our cruise with a charity auction. This year’s auction we raised over $24,000.00 for the Segs4Vets program! This is a wonderful, fully volunteered charity that helps our disabled veterans with mobility. We’re hoping to do a lot more in the coming months and years with this charity.
So, the title of this blog is how we hate airplanes. For those of you who travel full time in your rv, you know exactly what we mean. We try to avoid flying as much as possible. This is one of the few times we have to fly, as we have pets that need to be tended to, so no just parking the rv and going for us. David’s sister Linda house sat, in our upstate NY home, for us as we did our cruise. All went well, except when we got home. On the plane ride home, both David and I got colds! This wouldn’t have happened if we could jump into our own rv instead of a plane. So we’ve been laying low and resting this week we’ve been back. We are thankful that we didn’t get sick going down to Florida. That would have made for a miserable cruise.
So we’re on the mend. Tasha and the kitties are all well and happy we’re home. All is good. Hope you all have safe travels where ever life takes you.
