When we left last night the coach was sitting in the oven baking. So hot out of the oven it came. Ready to get all the tape and masking off.
David really enjoyed the glassy finish. As you can see, it really is a shiner! Just wait until you see it out in the sun.
Once all the tape and masking was off the coach it was moved over to the other side of the building where they install all the outside accessories and lights.
Once the coach got out into the sunlight the colors really popped. Sorry but in this case pictures really do not do it justice.
So once in the next building the team immediately got to work on our coach. The steps get put on and that made me excited. I was the very first person to use the steps…ever.
The awning got installed over the front door.
All the outside lights go on at this point. However, we brought different lights that we wanted put on, motion sensing lights, so they are going to put those lights on in a couple days when we come back to that area.
All the slide toppers and window awnings are put on at this point.
Once the team was done we were off to the scales to get weighed.
Tiffin does have there own scales right there on premises and they are a four point scale, which means all four of your tire points get weighed individually.
So it really was just a maintenance kind of day. Nothing thrilling and exciting went on. While it’s all important stuff, it’s just not terribly exciting.
Sorry about that.
Once the team was done with our coach it was back to Red Bay to get some final finishing stuff done there.
The Red Bay team was not expecting us until tomorrow but once they saw us pull in they got right to work on a few things.
It was the end of the day but they wanted to get a jump on tomorrow’s work. So they stayed a little while and worked on a few items.
Then it was time to go home. So tomorrow we’ll be finishing up some final touch-ups and installations that need to be done.
Since nothing thrilling and exciting happened today, I’ll leave you with some glamour shots of our coach. We want to show off the shine!
I am blown away by how the clear coat and sunshine bring out the colors. Amazing! I bet you guys are getting really excited!
We spent the night outside Bay 46 as the windshield adhesive had not set. They didn’t want us driving too far. We stuck around 3 hours after they put the finish edge of black goo on. It was still a bit tacky, but we were anxious to get on the road. Four hours later, when we arrived in Forrest City, AR, the edge was still tacky! Glad we didn’t wait around for it to totally dry!
Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
Hi, The coach really looks GREAT!!!!! Are they going to need two more wks to get it done? The “personal service tech” is a great idea. ;~) Really enjoying watching the build. Thank you for sharing.
Hi James. Yes, it could take up to two more weeks as there are lots of little things that need to be done. Tiffin is really diligent in making sure that everything gets done to our satisfaction before it leaves there facility. So if we’re not happy with something, they fix it. Plus, there’s a lot of finishing work to make everything just right. They really are not short on the number of inspections that the coach goes through.
I have to say thats one beautiful coach, I remember when I met you at the factory you talked about your paint scheme being a little different. If you don’t mind can you email me the info on the paint scheme and I’ll have to keep it in mind when i’m able to get my 45LP, it was a pleasure meeting you and your wife, safe travels.
Hi Tom. Really glad you like it. Sorry to say that our paint scheme is not something that is available to order. I had told Tiffin that I really never wanted to pass ourselves going down the road or park next to ourselves. (They make a lot of these.) So we had to come up with something and pay for it to be done. I have to say, it is a hit. Already four couples it seems who were here looking around inquired about ordering it. I mentioned to Bob that we would like to have a “Ralph Lauren” deal so if our color or couch is requested, we then get a kick back. However, not in the form of cash, but just credit on a new coach later. That deal has not yet been signed. LOL :)
Great looking home!
One word, SWEEEEEEEEEET!
What a beautiful coach. You guys are gonna have a BLAST!
Coach is coming along beautifully!! We are headed to Red Bay this weekend and are planning to arrive on Sunday. We definitely want to meet you and say hello!
Thanks Jennifer. As you know we will be here for at least another couple of weeks. We’d like to meet you guys too. We’re the only non-tiffin coach in the place. We’re in site 21.
