Start Of Day 4 In The Main Plant

Day 6 of our build starts off with a flourish of activity.

This is the day that everything should be done so tomorrow the coach can go to paint.

Then we got word that the big slide was done.

Side note: The Tiffin people had noticed something wrong with the original big (galley) slide. So they made the decision to totally rebuild the box which takes a few hours. As it was the end of the day, the box had to be done the next day. Instead of holding up the production line, the coach continued down the line without the big slide.

With the box finally done it was time to install it. The only problem was the coach was at the end of the production line now.

So the slide and the crew had to come to the coach. Guiding it all the way through the factory, dodging people, other coaches and all sorts of factory stuff.

That was interesting.

As you can see, it was a tight space to work in. Not what they are used to but the guys were great and got the slide in quickly.

It takes a few men to get the slide in. Once it was in place it was time for the team to come back and finish off what they had started in the rest of the coach.

How Many People Can You Fit In Your Coach?

How Many People Can You Fit In Your Coach?

This picture looks like we’re trying to set a new record on how many people you can fit into one coach. At one point I counted 14! We could never fit that many people in our current coach.

David Checking Something Out

David Checking Something Out

Help! David got eaten by the bedroom slide.

Just kidding. Sorry. When I saw this I had to include it in the blog.

You know David. He’s on the floor, under the bed checking out what’s under there. But in this case it was for a good reason because I noticed when we brought the slide in, there is a real nice place that our furry kids could get into during travel. So I asked David to check it out.

Once the crew was done finishing up the slide area it was one last drive to the “wet” bay.

Testing For Leaks

Testing For Leaks

This is where they hook up the water lines and test for any leaks. Fill the tanks and empty. Fill and run the Aqua Hot system.

No leaks!

So that’s the end of our day 4 in the main plant (day 6 of the build).

Installed Mattress

Installed Mattress

Now I wish I could take advantage of the new mattress that they installed today. My commute would go from 1 mile to a few steps.

Ok, now for the long time lapse from today. It is long as it was a 9 hour day because of the slide needed to be redone and all the work that goes with it needed to be caught up on. On the time lapse you will see all the workers in the coach at one time. It’s a great coach, look at all the space! Enjoy…
