Ok, this is totally Outside Our Bubble!!! I wanted to post this quickly as it is something we have not experienced before. We are currently in the middle of a dust storm! 50MPH winds with gusts as high as 65 here in Van Horn, TX. It sounds like our coach is being sand blasted! And I guess it kind of is.
We are stopped at a KOA for the night and we got here just in time to setup and hunker down. Below is a YouTube video of what it is like. Be sure to take note of the color of our Saturn. (Dirty Brown was not an offered option.)
Do you have a kite to fly…. :)
Does not look fun….
Nope…No Kite, nor did we want to stand out their any longer. That was kind of a bad idea. Even more so with Tasha. It sure will be hard to take her out tonight.
Not to be too fearmongering, but I always wondered what kind of gusts would be dangerous for an RV. I guess one could mitigate risk by parking into the wind, but does anyone have an idea of what it would take to, well, topple over a rig?
I only experienced a short life (about 30 min) dust storm once in Colorado, but I think it was not as strong as the one you just experienced, not sure, for we took shelter inside a supermarket.
Poor Tasha is right!
I also wonder, is it safe to leave the slides out in a dust storm?
Oh my! Poor Tasha and Brenda! David, you sound like you are enjoying it.:P
We put in the main slide at 8:00PM. The coach was rocking side to side and we just did not want to loose our main slide slide topper.
Hey, all the best stories deal with adversity! Hi guys, we thought we would see where you were on the planet, glad to see your still on the road. Maybe we will cross trails sometime…Brad
Hi Brad!!! Your little Wood Duck is traveling right along with us. When we head back East later in the year, we will have to see where you guys are. Maybe we could meet up!
