Fall Colors In Full Bloom

Fall Colors In Full Bloom

A few days ago we set off on a two day trip.  Not far, just 2 hours from our home in Rochester, NY, to Verona, NY.  Just east of Syracuse.

One reason is to get out there and see some beautiful fall colors.

Another reason is steak!

Yup…you heard me right.  Verona, NY is home of Turning Stone Casino.  Now we don’t gamble, but they do have a wonderfully yummy Brazilian Steak House called Rodizio. We try to get there at least once a year.

Now there is no need to camp out in the parking lot at Turning Stone.  Nope. They have a nice rv park, called The Villages RV Park, just up the road with a free shuttle to and from the casino.  So we didn’t even take our car for this adventure.

The sites do have lots of trees.  But they are generally not an issue, even for our 42 footer, except for satellite reception.  It’s always tricky to find just that right spot so you can enjoy some television while there.  They do provide cable tv though.  So no worries.

There are some nice walking paths around the park as well as various ponds.

We like coming here for a quick get away.

And there’s always Rodizio.  YUM!

Maybe next summer we can try for two outings there.  We’ve run into friends that just happened to be staying there for a few nights and we’ve brought friends there to enjoy Rodizio with us.

Life is good… fabulous fall colors, a good steak and quiet evenings, if you ignore the train that is.  But I dare you to find a nice park that is not near train tracks.  They certainly are few and far between.

And just look at that view!

We are lucky to be able to live in this beautiful area.  Now just ask me how I feel about living in this area when the snow starts to fall.
