Great news…In the wee morning hours at sunrise tomorrow, Friday the 14th, we will finally be heading out of the Tiffin manufacturing plant and following behind our new Tiffin Allegro Bus 45LP, Solar Storm, to Davis Motorhome in Memphis, TN where we will take delivery and move in.
Seeing we live in a wireless world, and we are fully wireless in our mobile lifestyle, we thought it would be fun to have others on the ride with us.
How? Glad you asked. If you have not noticed, we have a Live Cam page in the menu. That link opens a page were you see what we see out the front windshield. Below that image is also a GPS tracker showing you right where we are. You can even click on the location marker on the map and see our current stats. (Seeing it is Google Maps, you can zoom in and out and also switch view modes.)
Few rules. No sending a welcoming comment to us every 5 minutes to welcome our arrival. In fact, if you do that too soon, you will be disqualified. Oh…thats a good rule, so I guess that is really the only rule. We will then check our black box video (yes, we have a black box recorder in our coach) to see when we arrived and be able to select the winner based on time stamps. We will use the email address used when making the comment to send the Amazon Gift card to the winner.
All in all, this has been a long, but enjoyable, “ride”. Stay tuned after delivery, and once we move in, for an ending video of a walk through of our new home and our thoughts on the experience. We also hope to do some flying around the coach with the quadcoptor. ;)
Be sure to share this post with friends to ride along with us. (Or don’t so you have a better chance. But we hope you do, for it is only $25 and we hope it might be fun to have others riding along.)
So feel free to comment along the way as we hope this to be interactive and fun.
Thanks all, we hope this works. It’s all in good fun.
This is where you will post your comments on the travel and record your official welcome arrival message! (Really hope this works out as it sounded like fun.)
who was the winner David :)
Congrats you guys. Have a safe trip. I don’t envy the move day though. :)
Two comments; 1. which is it a $ 20.00 OR a $ 25.00 Amazon gift card? 2. If you have not yet, tomorrow you can mark off the Mississippi state as far as traveled.
Opps…I see I missed updating a spot. It is $25. :)
Congratulations on your new bus! We just turned in our 31SA Monday at Davis and will go to Red Bay next Friday to begin the birth of our new 36GH.
Hey, congrats it about time.lol hope your trip is safe….Beautiful motor home..
Just hit highway 78 heading west towards highway 55 that will take us into Memphis! Beautiful travel day. No wind. Sunrise coming up behind us so no sun glare. Beautiful looking coach in front of us.
Hoorah! YIPPEEEEEE! I am happy for you both!
30 miles to go to the dealership. Almost there.
I can’t seem to view the web cam, so I’m going to just assume you’ve arrived and say congratulations! Best of luck with the new Bus. It’s a beauty!
Welcome to Davis!
You actually are the real winner in our hearts. But seeing you are family, I need to just send out love instead. :)
Welcome to Davis Motorhome!
Rich, you also win as I did not think about the first time poster block. So sorry about that.
Welcome to Davis Motorhome David and Brenda I hope you like and enjoy your new home on wheels
Thank Mike! You win!!! Thanks for following along.
Thanks very much guys.. I hope some day we can meet you guys
Welcome to Davis
My comment was stuck in moderation. Dang.
Congratulations on the new motorhome, it’s a beauty!
Got you covered Rich. Our fault…so you also win.
David, thank you so much!
My wife and I have been following your build, and we’re very jealous of you (but in a good way). Congratulations again, and we’re looking forward to hearing about your experiences with it.
Congratulation. Hope next step smoth.
Hope the move in goes smoothly, I enjoyed our conversation back in Late January when I meet you while on the factory tour, you guys have looked at every detail and angle in the coach and it has been really think as I research my future purchase, LOVE the 3 color paint job, it’s the most beautiful coach I’ve ever seen, will you be posting a summary of lessons learned in your build, changes, etc?
Hi…Yes, as soon as we can get through the move in, we will be doing a full video talk on the coach and the experience of the build. So stay tuned as this is taking much longer than we had thought. :)
Hello Botts family, Congratulations on your new home. I’m sure you’ll be very happy in it.. We’ve received the build schedule for our RED 34qfa. Build starts April 2. We know nothing about motor homes, so we’ll skip the build and keep our fingers crossed. We’re supposed to pick ours up at Davis around the end of April. We hope you’ll be able to give us some advice. We’ll be traveling with our dog and need to have some kind of security system to keep out intruders while we’re away from the coach. Any suggestions?
Hi…Would the dog not be the best security system? :) We do not use any type of security system so I really would not have a recommendation. I have really never been in a coach that does have one that I have seen. I am sure you can find something that would work, but it all comes down to how you want to detect the intruder. You can not use motion based sensors because of the dog. So you would then be left with just a door sensor.
Good luck with you new adventure!
Looks like you are back in Red Bay! Hope you won’t have to be there too long. We are at FMCA and met Bob a couple of days ago. I told him we knew you and he said that yall have been a huge help to Tiffin and they’re looking to make a few changes based on your input. But I’m sure you know that already! He said there was still an awning issue being worked on – hope it all gets worked out soon so you can say good-bye to Red Bay for awhile!
Hi Guys! Yes, back in Red Bay we are sorry to report. Don’t get us wrong, we knew we would be here at some point. Just not right after leaving the dealer.
We have an engine issue and as Mr. Tiffin mentioned, an awning issue. The Paramount awnings are holding water! It seems that they are pitched at 3 degrees and they should be 6 degrees per the install manual. As such, the first night it rained, we could not get the awnings in the next morning as there was that much water on them.
Few other issues, but not a lot. Let me just say this…WE ARE SO READY TO GET BACK TO NORMAL LIFE!!! Opps, did I yell that? :)
Congrats! I know you will enjoy it
