We went away this Memorial Weekend with some friends of ours, their kids and one of their kids friends.
Yes, we went camping.
In our motorcoach.
It does happen upon occasion.
That’s our friends class c next to us in the campground.
Looking around, we stand out like a sore thumb.
As always.
In upstate New York, their are usually not a lot of large big rigs around. So we are usually the biggest thing around….again.
The campground, Branches Campground, is nice, but average. It has a lake you can kayak, canoe and zip line across. Yes, I said zip line. The campground built two zip lines. One for smaller kids and one for the big kids, adults and kids alike.
The down side to this campground, and something that will take it off of our return list is the price.
One night is $75 bucks! That’s steep. Yes we are in the Niagara Falls and Fantasy Island Amusement Park area. So you get the high price for the location. But that’s not the end of the charges. Nope.
You’d think that at that price everything would be included. Nope.
You have to pay an additional $20 per day for an activities pass. Oh…and did I mention you can only buy the pass when you check in? And oh…if you are staying 3 nights, like we are, you HAVE to buy 3 days worth of activities passes. So if you wanted to go out of the campground and tour around Niagara Falls or whatever, it doesn’t matter, you still have to buy the activities pass for that day.
That is completely wrong. In my humble opinion.
The first day we got here, Friday, the kids immediately went for the kayaks and canoes.
It was a super windy day so the kids kept getting blown around on the water.
That didn’t stop them though.
Baby Robins Almost Ready To Take Flight
Of course we had to have the obligatory burgers on the grill for dinner.
David was our chef for the evening.
The Blazing Campfire
Outside the activities center their was a nest of three baby robins. Almost ready to take flight.
They’ll probably be gone before we leave here.
David Cooking Burgers On The Grill For Dinner
And yes, we sat around the campfire that night, we told campfire stories and roasted Smore’s.
Can we get anymore predictable?
