So David mentioned to me that it’s been a while since I blogged. I looked, and low and behold, he was right. My my how time flies.
So what have we been up to? We left our family in Florida and made our way to our current location of Tucson, Arizona.
We caught up to our friends Curtis and Gladys from Louisiana. They are making their way to Pasadena, CA for the Rose parade in January.
Before we met up with Curtis and Gladys though, we had a couple of over night stops. One night we stopped at a Walmart parking lot in the panhandle of Florida. When we awoke the next morning we saw a Blue Bell Ice Cream truck.
If you do not have Blue Bell ice cream where you live, I am truly sorry. Some friends of ours, Jay and Joanne got us hooked on Blue Bell. Thanks guys! Now that we are totally addicted to this ice cream we are doomed. One good thing is that Blue Bell is not sold in New York…yet. I say yet because the Blue Bell ice cream truck guy that David was talking to said they are expanding. He also mentioned that he was originally from Batavia, NY! How funny is that. That’s not too far from Rochester, where we are from. What are the odds of running into a fellow Western NYer in a Walmart parking lot in Florida. Too funny.
I also made my first attempt at making bread. Not just any old bread though. I’ve made my fair share of banana bread thanks to my Grandma Blackburn’s family recipe. However regular sandwich bread is a new beast all together. This was my first baking experience with yeast. I think my attempt at this honey wheat bread turned out well. If I do say so myself. Oh wait…I just did :)
Driving Into Houston, Texas
Driving west you see a variety of things. Here we are driving through the city of Houston, Texas. Making our way to the San Antonio area to meet up with Curtis and Gladys.
We made a stop over in Fort Stockton, Texas at a really nice RV park called Hilltop RV Park. Do yourself a favor, if you find yourself driving on I-10 and you are in the Fort Stockton, TX area, stop here for the night. Reasonable rates ($25/night) with beautiful views and sunsets, it’s really a nice stop.

If we find ourselves through here again, we may stay for a few nights.
Driving West Through New Mexico To Arizona The Roads Seem To Go On Forever. Beautiful Mountain Views. You Can Truly See For Miles And Miles.
Driving west through New Mexico the roads go on and on forever. Beautiful mountain views in every direction. No matter how many times we come through here, it still amazes us.
So we are here now in Tucson, Arizona through Christmas. We’re staying at the Lazydays RV Campground. Which by the way, is another really nice rv park with a really good restaurant on site.
