Tomorrow we head off to Quartzite, AZ to the big show and meet up some friends of ours again. It’ll be good to be around people we know again.
We treated ourselves to the Motorcoach Country Club Resort here in Indio, CA. I say treated because this place is not cheap. We normally would not stay at a place like this, but it was nice after the last few days that we have had.
This place really has it all. A nice club house that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. A couple nice pools, tennis courts, saunas, a full gym, golf course and over a mile long lake that snakes around the park.
The days have been filled with blue sky and sunshine. The sunsets are beautiful. And we are surrounded by mountains. And doesn’t it figure, we have tons of grass. Tasha would have loved it!
The resort is filled mostly with Provosts, Country Coaches, Newell’s and Marathon Coaches. Their are Corvettes, Porsche’s, Bentley’s, a Lamborghini and 2, count them 2, Aston Martins. (We feel so under-dressed with our Saturn Outlook.) The golf carts are just as crazy. They are Hummers, Rolls Royce’s, Bentley’s, and What ever they can dream up. (Did I say we feel under-dressed with our Saturn Outlook?) It’s just crazy money.
One day we were in our coach and we heard some Ultra Lights go overhead. No doubt from somewhere in the resort. They had just taken off and were going back and forth to get some lift before disappearing over the mountains. Like I said, crazy money.
Ultra Light Flying Over The Rigs
We’ve also been keeping ourselves busy by Geocaching. The people that hid these caches are real ingenious and creative. Here’s some we found…
Cache Hanging In A Tree Disguised As A Leaf
My personal favorite was the cache disguised as a link in a chain. Pretty creative. By the way, in the above picture, the fake link is the larger link on the right, attached to the smaller links.
We’ve been taking evening walks and enjoying the resort. It gets quiet here at night. And as the sun sets, the sky opens up to all sorts of beautiful colors.
The Lake That Meanders Around The RV Resort
Last night we were out for a walk and we heard this loud music. That was unusual for this place. So we decided to check it out. We happened to come across a private little concert/get together from Bobby Freeman. Nothing fancy. Just him, a piano and a guitar playing outside his coach on the patio. He was very entertaining. Every time he would start getting into a song, he’d stop and tell a story. I don’t think he played one song all the way through. He was funny to listen to though. That made for a nice evening.
We had lunch in the clubhouse today. While we were here we had to check it out at least once. It was a nice quiet lunch with a beautiful view. This is the view from our table.
Then David got a little crazy and posed with the big horns outside the club.
So, when you happen to be in this area, check this place out. It’s worth the expense. At least for a treat once in a while.
Glad to see you joking around with the big rams. Looks like a nice, beautiful warm place. (Of course compared to 12 degrees we have here anything would be warm)…just a little jealous to see you outside in t-shirts. My grandsons will be a year old in less than a month…hard to believe. Lov eyou both.
We were passed the other day by a Class A towing a Hummer. Their combined gas mileage is probably negative. Separately, it’s so great to see other fulltimers into geocaching. Caching is such fun and is very conducive to a nomadic lifestyle.
