One of our favorite places is Picacho Peak State Park in Arizona. It’s located off I-10 between Tucson and Casa Grande, AZ. We discovered this wonderful state park last year in our travels and we wanted to make sure we made a stop this trip as well.
I have to say, before we got here we stopped at a rest area around the 320 mm. You must stop here if you are passing through. I know it sounds weird to tell you to stop at a rest area. But WOW! What a view. The giant boulders and mountains make for some beautiful photo ops.
Back to Picacho Peak now…It is filled with the huge Saguaro Cacti and has some nice walking and hiking trails. We have yet to see a bad sunset here as the sun sets over the mountains and creates beautiful pink, red and violet streaks across the sky.
We only plan on being here for a couple days and nights as we make our way to Desert Center, CA.
Tasha is enjoying the weather here, as are we. Today it got up into the 50’s and tomorrow will be even warmer. Dare I say we may have nice warm weather for a while? I hope so because we were starting to get really depressed with the bitter cold weather we’ve encountered.
Wowee…such a fantastic place, and fantastic photos…you have learned a lot in the past year about creative photography! It was nice “sharing” a cup of coffee with you D, as we enjoyed the scenery and watching B take her photos “together” through the magic of your technology!
How great too that I get to see my beloved Tasha getting around and smiling so! I love her so much! (oh, and I love you D&B too!)
I hope you get to wherever this country is hiding the heat in the Southwest! Just had a thought about those giant cacti…good thing Tasha is female, huh? Could be dicey for a male dog to lift his leg on one of those suckers!
Oh…the twists and turns my mind takes…
Hugs!
One of the great things about reading other RVers’ blogs is that I find that I’m adding daily to the list of places that I want to see. Thanks for the latest addition!
