Quartzsite, AZ, for about two weeks, becomes the third largest city in Arizona. RVers from all over the country descend onto this desert town to partake in one of the largest rv shows in the country. And we are in the middle of it. Literally. Last year when we came with our friends we parked off to one side of the road, in a field, dry camping for $7.00 a day. This year our friends wanted to be closer. While I’m not sure if we accomplished being closer to the main event tent, we are not in a bad location. Sandwiched between Interstate 10, Main Street and Route 95, we’re within walking distance to the event. However we were able to walk last year too. And trust me, you do not want to drive while here. The roads are backed up for quite a while.
While we are sandwiched between the main roads, the noise is not that bad. It quiets down enough at night that we are able to watch movies under the stars.
Plus we place our four rigs in a square which cuts down on the noise and gives us a nice little courtyard for us to enjoy.
Pot luck dinners, happy hours and movie’s under the stars with friends, what more could one ask for?
Here in Quartzsite you never know what your going to find. There are tons of rv related vendors as well as the not so rv related booths. People hawking anything from rv cleaners, pots and pans and hats to chainsaw carvings of bears, skulls and junk, oops, I mean antiques.
Metal Rooster. I Don’t Think Our Neighbors Back Home Would Appreciate This "Sculpture" In Our Yard. It Stood About 6 Feet Tall!
We’ve also gone out Geocaching for a little bit. This time it took us to a really nice memorial garden. We would have never known it was there if we were not Geocaching.
All in all it’s been fun. We’ve enjoyed being around friends. Shopping for things we never knew we needed. And eating the most addicting mini donuts ever! The weather has been really nice. Blue sky and upper 60’s. The kitties have been enjoying the fresh air and sunshine too.
According to Whisper, nothing beats a nice corner view in the sun.
We enjoyed all the photos mostly the country club park. It was wonderful to see things we have never seen before. We are glad that you are making new friends and enjoying life. We can hardly wait for you to get home. We love you both.
