Just had to make a quick post about the last three notices to you received, if you are subscribed to us, about new posts being made that were clearly spam.
First off…Sorry! We were hacked and spammed as someone was able to get in and make the three posts to our blog. Guessing you surely had some idea that they were not from us as they read as spam. At least we hope you did.
As you can see, Whisper was not amused by this at all and is doing all he can to restrain himself.
We believe it was done via an exploit in the WordPress code or a plugin we are using but just in case we are currently being sure we are up-to-date (which we were) and also modifying password and account information.
Again, we are sorry it took place but a new post is coming today or tomorrow. :)
Thought as such. Sorry you have to go through such trouble!
Wondered why this was so unlike you…..I hit the delete three times. I did enjoy your video from Panama City Beach resort. So beautiful….made me envious.
Thanks for the update. I was really confused!
We had the same issue a couple of years ago with one of our sites, but the system always notified me that someone had established themselves as a new admin. Since I am here nearly all the time I was able to catch it and stop it before any damage was done, and immediately change the password. No damage was done the second time, but the third time, they deleted all my income pages, some with custom made banners and links. That cost me money. But after the third time within a few months, I decided to check my settings. One of the things was that I had the site set so that anyone could comment. I changed that to where they now have to register, and that seems to have stopped them. I haven’t had a hack now in nearly three years. That site was set up with WordPress. We also use several other non-blog site builders as well as Blogger, and have had no other issues. We have also gone to a totally random password composed of non-word characters, numbers and symbols mixed with capital letters. Passwords that contain words are the easiest to hack and should be avoided at all costs. I have been marketing online for fifteen years, and immediately recognized that your three posts I received were spam. I hope my tips helped you. If you ever have a question, don’t be afraid to ask. Best wishes.
No worries, David! Thought it was junk…If it looks like, smells like it probably is Spam! The photo of Whisper is great!
Recognized it right away. No issues, no problems
Today I have 5 emails from you. Know you got hacked. Now we are getting junk.
Hi…Seeing an email list is used to send out post notices to those subscribed, thus will only happen when a post is made to the site. You would have received 3 junk post notices and the one post that we made from. Otherwise no other access other than making a post.
