So just a quick update for you all.
No, we still do not have the new coach. Their are many factors at play here and we’re not to sure how things are going to play out.
So for now, we decided to refuse delivery of the new coach because of all the issues, so that it can go back to Winnebago to get the repairs it needs to get done. We could not put our lives on hold and be put out any more. We are still in our current Gulfstream Tour Master and have left Indianapolis (where the dealership was).
We are currently in Iowa taking a break.
The cats, as you can see from the top picture are dealing with this well. Although they have put in a request for a larger couch.
David and I had this coach all ready to trade in. Items were removed ready to be installed in the new coach. Now without knowing when that may happen, David is reinstalling some items.
Such as the Air Force One braking system. He had taken it off in preparation of installing it on the new coach. After driving without it all the way to Indianapolis, then to Florida and back, we really missed it. If you do not have a supplemental braking system, this is a must, and in some states it is actually illegal to tow without one. We really felt the difference without it.
So David crawled under the rig and put it back on.

So here we sit. Just hanging out trying to keep ourselves busy until we know what is going on.
Aw gee… But maybe if you go to see the “Field of Dreams” while you are in Iowa, you will get word that your new coach is now perfect and realize your own Dream! See? Well, it could work that way.
Hugs…
David will you at some point go into detail about the reasons for your not accepting the coach?
We also would like to know the reasons. We have an 08 Tourmaster and looking to upgrade to a Tour too, but are really curious what the problems are, even though they are being fixed. Thanks!
Oh, man, I really feel for you two. I can hear the disappointment and frustration in your text. So sorry you’re having such a delay. When you look back on this someday, hopefully you’ll be able to laugh about it. I’m looking forward to reading a post some day soon where you say it’s all over with and you have your new, perfect coach. Of course I’m probably not looking forward to it as much as you are!
You should have gotten a Tiffin.
FWI on IRv2 someone recently picked up a new Tour, they have been posting photos and taliking about it in the NEW RIG SHOWOFF thread…
SOOO sorry to hear you are still not in your new RV and what a PITA to have to reinstall items. On the plus side, you are in Iowa, a state that is still on my list. :) Hoping for good news soon for you guys!
Brenda & Dave,
Just discovered your blog as we are getting ready to jump to full time in September. We have a 2000 Gulf Stream Scenic Cruiser and have been looking to “upgrade” to an 07/08 Tourmaster. Just curious…how many miles are on your beast and which of your “additions” are you leaving behind? It sounds like it may be worth a trip to CW in Indianapolis to talk to Les and Lisa….
