So we’ve been on the road for about a week now. We have already seen our fair share of funny, weird and strange things on the road.
This is a compilation of what we find funny, weird and down right strange.
This person passed us on the highway. They had a trailer with a full bed and mattress in the back. I made the comment to David that that person was really ruffing it. Get it? Cause they were towing just the bed and not a whole camper?
OK, so I thought that was funny.
Here’s us passing a really shiny truck. So shiny I had to grab the camera and take our picture.
Stopping for gas you don’t expect to see this at the pumps.
So up here in Canada they have a store called Canadian Tire. It seems to be a cross between a Lowe’s, K-Mart and Big Lots. They literally have everything you can imagine, except groceries. We went in just to check it out and we were amazed at how much stuff their was in there.
They even have wind turbines you can buy! Everyone needs one of those…don’t they?
So I was making blueberry pancakes the other morning when David got out a new bottle of syrup. He opened it up and started laughing. I asked what was so funny about syrup and he showed me the top of the bottle.
Someone at the Hungry Jack Syrup Factory has a sense of humor.
Another oddity. So, here we are traveling and you need to stop once in a while for groceries. Well, you may not find your usual brands that you are used to. But when I needed milk I did not expect this.
Their milk comes in a bag. My theory is this. The Canadians seem to be big into recycling. I see recycling bins every where. Even at the Walmart parking lots. So, Milk in a bag is less waste and I’m guessing you could wash out the bag and recycle it. That’s my theory at least.
Another thing I found in a bag….bread.
This bread is actually really nice because it’s sealed. So the air can not get to it. That’s nice for traveling because it will last a lot longer on our shelf than a typical loaf. We opted for the garlic version.
Well…that’s all I have for you now. I hope you got a chuckle out of something here. I’m sure I’ll come across more funny, weird and strange things as we keep traveling.
How do one easily pour the milk out from the bag?
I think every syrup top should have a smiley face! :)
Milk…Very slowly and carefully. You don’t want to end up crying over spilled milk.
Syrup Bottle…YUP! I agree. What a way to start the day.
