Well, what can we say other than we are sorry. We are sorry we have been out of touch for the past few years and this post is long, long, overdue.
We are sorry to all of our subscribers who have been wondering what had happened to us and are also thankful for those who had reached out. Well, here is the long, way past overdue, post. As you can see, we are all currently fine. So we will just start there with Loki running into the sunset of our new home. (So fitting.)
So First… David is typing this in the “Third Person” perspective. As many of you know, David suffers from severe depression and very high anxiety which started when he had a stroke at the age of 40. (I guess we should not say we are all “fine” then so to speak. LOL) The downside is that medications, like 19 different ones, have not helped thus far. However on a positive side, that lead us to “Loki”, now 7’ish years ago. (Wow, time really does fly.)
However, during this 7’ish years of time, David also unfortunately was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer back in June 2020 at the age of 55. The saving grace, in this particular case, was that we were still full-timing in the coach and because of that we were able to travel to MD Anderson in Houston Texas which happens to be one of the best cancer treatment places in the world. David received treatment in February 2021, choosing to use SBRT, Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy. You can read more about his adventures in this over a three blog post series. POST ONE – POST TWO – POST THREE. Not to mention…MD Anderson actually did a write up on us! Here is the link to it on MD Anderson’s site…Click Here. (As far as his cancer, things are looking good at this point. So…Yippee!)
In any case…Yes, “sh*t happens” and sometimes it will make you make changes in your life. In our case, sadly, David’s depression has gotten worse and thus we decided some changes might be in order. The biggest being that we bought an actual home (SHOCKER I Know!). Based on this, and the above mentioned, we have not posted RV/Motorcoach stuff, or anything, in a long, loooooong, time. (Again as you surely may know.)
Based on the above, David sadly also lost all interest in flying his drone or even making new posts to the site. As some of you may know, these were things he very much enjoyed doing… making videos in hopes to helping other RV’ers. Even flying Park Areas or “areas of interest”, or even making Music Videos when he played music with different bands has sadly all has more or less fellen away. As such, nothing really to post to the blog or our YouTube. But we “hope” this will change.

But yes…We now live in the clouds 1,900 feet up in the Cumberland Plateau’s of Tennessee over looking the valley of “Icy Cove“. We have 12 acres of land in a forest that is very private. The top photo to the left was taken from our back deck overlooking the Cumberland Plateau and the bottom one from our front porch. So yes, we actually live in the forest! After many years of traveling we knew what we liked…that being, Quiet, Pieceful, Privacy, and a VIEW! This gives us all. Also we very much love watching the weather, and this view surely gives us that!
So the long and short of it, David has not been in the “mental mood” or state of mind to continue to do RV Coach or Techie videos at all. The motivation is gone for the most part even though we have tried a lot of different drugs.
As such, we have not posted anything in a long, long. time. Blog post or YouTube video wise.
So what’s left to say? Well not too much seeing we could talk about the new home, but who cares to hear about that, as you were here for RV/Motorcoach related items.
So I guess we will just say, we are still alive. We still are considering what to do. We are still looking at and trying different things for David to try to get back to some sort of norm.
Loki has been the best help, however that still hurts David as he can not work with Loki as he feels he should. Loki really needs to “work” to be happy and without David actualy looking to even go out, well, that then becomes an issue for Loki. But again, we are working on it.
Mental illness is not fun. Not for the person who has it or the people around that person that try to help. Human or Animal. But all three of us are still here and still trying to make the most of life.
We are going to try to do live YouTube videos to show our life in our new place and what we are doing, but not sure that would be of interest to most of our RV/Coach followers. We will still be going to Southwoods RV Resort for summers, but not sure for how much longer. But even with that, not sure on doing videos or what-have-you on RV mod’s or fixes. (That likely will not continue.)

‘So for now…This is David and Brenda, and of course Loki, saying again….Sorry we have not been around. We do miss doing all that we did with the RV/Motorcoach community. From OOBerFest to just making videos, we truly miss being part of your world.
Of course Loki just loves looking over the property, “His domain” keeping the critters at bay.
SIDE NOTE: If you use Instagram, you can always subscribe to @lokibott where Loki makes one post every day. So you can kind of keep up with us. hummm…Him. Loki speaks in dogie voice of course and can be quite funny. Also you can go way back in his post history to really see what’s been happening. :)
IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE: David wrote this in the “third person” and is true to what was written. Depression and Anxiety surely…well…SUCKS! It is not something wished on anyone but way to many people have it now based on world events. Many suffer from it…but more so for people like David who has been through a few life altering events.
We hope to start doing videos from the home where we can do live Q&A’s about our time living in an RV or Motorcoach in order to help others. We also hope to bring in Michael Kidd, a great friend, on some videos for Q&A’s as he and his wife are still living in a coach.
We love and thank you all for your support and understanding as to our long overdue post and video below.
For Fun…Here is a video that sums life up for me, David, currently. That being “What’s Up?” This was shot 4 years ago, with friends I greatly miss. This video was total improv and that is what makes it great to me. We just “Had Fun” with what was in front of us. This is what life should be about. Friendship and just enjoyment. (Thanks Dave and Kevin for this memory.)
And here is a wonderful video we did not even know about until someone alerted us. It was from an OOBerfest Event we orginized for our followers in 2019 in Quartzsite AZ!!! Thank you “Ramblin Pam” for the special memories. It is finding something like this online that really made us feel that we have been such a help to the RV Community. We did quite a few of these over the years and it was great to not only meet followers, but to help them learn while at the OOBerfest event in Quartzsite, AZ.

Wow! Welcome back! Of course we want to hear about your new home and your life “not on the road”!!! Your videos were the first Youtube videos I had discovered. I watched/listened to them religiously. I was new on the RV scene and fascinated by it all. I learned a lot from you guys. I even enjoyed listening to you as you drove for hours and hours to various destinations. I followed your adventures to Quartzite, which I had never heard of, and dreamed about going one day. You have a gift. Getting back into conversation with your followers could be the best medicine you could hope for. I am happy that I am on your mailing list. Indeed, it has been some years. I hope to hear more from you!
Well Hello and Thank You for the kind note. We do hope to be able to make some posts and videos and we still do have the coach, so, well, we just may get back into action at some point. :) If you use Instagram you can follow Loki at @lokibott as he posts once each day and you can sometimes get insight to what’s happening with us. Heck, you could go back in history and see what been happening.
In any case, thank you again.
David, Brenda and Loki
Hang in there, David. Best of luck to you.
Thanks John.
Great to hear from you. We all walk different paths and we applaud your vournability and transparency now and in the past. We always enjoyed your technical expertise after meeting you during your Tiffin build. Keep up the good fight and chose to focus on joy each day.
Wishing you both a Mery Christmas and blessed New Year. Chip
Hi Chip! Yup, it’s been a long road these days but hoping to keep improving. Thanks for the note and taking the time to reply.
SOOOO Great to see your post. My wife and I so enjoyed following you and evening meeting you once at your summer campsite in NY. Of note was our coach was Exactly Like yours…but not sure I could make it always shine like you…but the deionized water sure helped. My wife passed last fall, but I’m still going to continue coaching by myself for as long as I can…she would have wanted that.
Thanks for all your posts…you taught many of us how to have fun and enjoy coaching.
David..stay engaged, that is the road back.
All the Best…
Sorry to read about your wife Steve. Glad we were part of the journey for you both. Down the road we continue to still try to go.
Glad you are back and will be praying for full recovery. Your blog might not have been updated in awhile, but I would still go back and re-listen to some of the videos/instructions – especially on how to configure the ubiquity range extender for wifi. You have a beautiful view from your home and I can relate to liking to watch the weather. Good luck to you guys and hope everything is peaceful. Hugh
Thank you kindly Hugh. Yes the view more or less old us the home. ;)
Lived in a 25’ trailer while we designed and built our home here in Auburn, CA. My wife would never agree to live in an RV again even when I pointed out the I could cook, eaten and sleep without getting out of bed. But 3 years in that small was trying. I so enjoyed you videos never missing a single one. Learned a lot of things that applied not just RV living. WiFi, car of the exterior of the coach and its tires, remote discharge of black and gray wastewater’s, and many other things. I thank you for the hours of entertainment and knowledge. I have checked your YouTube site several times over the years hoping for a return. It was great to see your email in my inbox and look forward to any and all news of D, B & L “Outside Your Bubble” . Wishing you the very best always.
Why thank you Willam. Glad you enjoyed the videos. They surely were a labor of love to do and I did enjoy doing them…until I didn’t. But hoping to get back to doing something at some point. But I am grateful you took the time to write to let us know.
I’m so sorry to hear. Dave has gone through so much, when I met you guys at courtside he were some of the greatest folks I ever met and had some of the nicest RVs around the campfire. Our thoughts and prayers are with your Dave. Hang in there you can beat the Dave. Thanks positive and keep smiling.
Thank you kindly. Quartzsite, Arizona was an outstanding time.
David, It’s good to hear from you. It’s important to do what’s best for you and enjoy, life can be too short.
Yep…Now 59 and learning life is fast. I just need to get my head above water. Getting their with Brenda and Loki. Harder than I had thought…But at least I know where I am heading.
David,
Thank you for providing the update. I hope you find the right combination (Medication, Loki, Friends, Family, etc) that works best for you, and returns you to the happiness you deserve.
I too have battled anxiety and depression. Thankfully, I realized how fast I was spiraling, and took almost 4 months off of work to focus on my health. I ended up taking a test called GeneSight which identifies which mental health medications work best for you, based on how your body metabolizes them. I had been on one of the worst possible medications for me. Thanks to that test, I am now on one of the best. If you haven’t tried that test, I would highly recommend talking to your physician about it.
You, Brenda, and Loki have helped SO many people over the years, and I know the RV and Tech communities appreciate it. You are not in this alone, and you all in our thoughts and prayers.
I live just a couple hours away, in White House, TN., and am more than happy to make the drive out if there is any way that I can help. Just reach out.
David, I have not heard of GeneSight, but we will now be looking into it. Tried way to many meds, some of which had really bad, suicidal type bad. But the best part I had going for me with that was I knew the thoughts and feelings were not correct. I know myself well and that’s a good thing. Not to mention I have Brenda and of course Loki to help me along the way. Always talking to Brenda when needed in regards to feeling some thoughts that might be in my head. I’m getting there. It’s just taking a lot longer than I ever had thought. To have been off the grid this long, with all the things I used to love to do, like helping this community, just kills me now to look back and see me as me, even though even at that time I was still going through some things, hiding them well. The last few years have been difficult, the most difficult, thus no contact. More or less dropped everything. But at least now I’m posting and I’m starting down the road. I hope continues to be straight. Thank you again.
Thanks so much David & Brenda for the wonderful posts and videos that we still get to watch. Love the Ooberfest memories! I really hope you guys will find joy as much as possible. You deserve to be happy.
Love to you both.
Thank you kindly Karen. OOBFest was alway a blast. A lot of work, but a fun time to do. :)
I wondered what happened and I am glad that you posted this. Naturally, along with everyone else, I only hope for the best for you. I am glad you’re still on the journey. The journey is the most important part, no matter how you travel or where you go.
Feel better.
Hi Michael, yes still on the journey. That road is long and harder at times, but yet we are going down it. And it is important, the journey that we all take.
Really happy to hear from you all. Jane and I love your Instagram posts. Especially the ones where Loki is keeping a close eye on you, lol. Since we are down the road from you, maybe we can get together sometime.
Hi Guys! Yes, it has been a long time for sure. Glad you been checking on me though Loki. :) I am sorry to say I don’t recall where you may be located. But don’t worry,I don’t remember a lot of people sadly to say. So it’s not just you. LOL
Thank you for the update and praying for you and Brenda Your travels on YouTube got me interested in RVing and I recalling watching your live streams for hours and learning. You are a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate that you were able to share with your “audience”. Best wishes
Hi Ed… oh yes, the live streams! Those were incredible to say the least. Four hours live streams going down the road. Who would think it? We did. Lol we had people following us for hours at a time. Some people the entire trip. They would ask us when we were gonna do the next one even. Never thought that would be the case. We had over 250 people to 300 at one time following us LIVE in one of our journeys. It was kind of cool actually. Maybe I should’ve gotten the podcasting. What would the subject matter be? Pondering minds.
Thank you, David for the update! You may have been otherwise occupied but certainly not forgotten. Delighted that you felt well enough to engage with those of us who have “known “ you all these years. Despite the challenges you face you’re a big inspiration to own it in public so the rest of us can learn. Thank you! My one and only ever “rv rally “ was OOBERFEST 2019. It was awesome! Thank you again!
While I am sorry we were your one and only rally as they can be fun…Glad it was ours and you has a good time. :) And thanks for not forgetting about us.
Thank you for the update as am sure many of us including myself have been wondering how you’ve all been and what you’ve been up to. I followed you for years and really enjoyed your tech videos ( being a techie myself ). But so glad your doing ok as I was worried you were having health issues that had stopped you from doing videos. Sounds like you’re ok and sorry for your health challenges, I know as I have my own to deal with. Anyway thanks for reaching out and all the best Kevin
Hi Kevin…Thanks for the kind words. Yes, health, both physical and mental can surely get into the way of doing things that you enjoy. I’m hoping to get back to doing some of the things I used to do. Even though they were a struggle at times to do them, they gave me some joy, knowing how I was helping others.
Hey David, Brenda and Loki, glad to see you guys are doing relatively great, I do miss your live drives and other videos. I can relate to what you guys are going through, we lost 2 kids (boy and girl) in ’96, and my wife hasn’t been the same. Severe depression and lots of meds. My wife still has a hard time visiting there grave site. We sold our coach and bought a house in Roseville, CA to help take care of her parents. You know us as MnM and the Gang. My actual name is Peter, my wife is Leilani and are furry kids were Oatmeal, Oreo and Biscuit, they passed away while we were RVing, Milo, Peanut and Gizmo are our remaining boys. Take care and safe travels when you do. God bless you guys.
Hello Peter…Or should I say “MnM and the Gang” :) Nice to hear from you. I think you were always on the Live Drives with us. Boy, that brings back memories. Yes, depression is just, well, not fun and has turned me upside down. But at least I am aware of it and try to just push though. We do hope to travel again and we still go back to upstate NY each summer. Thanks for writing.
Oh my goodness! I got an email from all of you and I clicked on this so fast my head was spinning!! We are glad all of you are alright! I would like to hear everything from house, to your other place and of course your motorhome. It doesn’ t have to be just the motorhome! I belong to Instagram and glad you said that Loki makes a post a day.
Gosh David I didn’t know how to an extent your Depression was and we are glad you opened up a great deal about it. Just hope and pray who will get better.
Brenda, Brenda, Brenda it was great to hear that everyone is still here.
We are so glad David, Brenda, and Loki wrote us.
Happy Holidays to all of you!
Happy New Year of 2026!
Thanks Deborah. Yes, it has been a interesting number of years. But thing are moving in the right direction we think. After all, made the post. :)
Thanks for sharing. We do miss your RV drives. Life can come at you fast and learning to know when to pivot is a must. Things have changed for us also. We still make our plans in jello using a pencil. Love and hugs to y’all
Danessa and Mitchell Q
Hey you two! Yup, always in Jello for sure. Always have, and now more than ever it seems. Still have that 360 video that we shot around the campfire. :)
So good to hear from you again. I saw a few months ago, on one of your photos, that you were setting up your car-carrier and was hoping that you would do another Live Road’ee on your way back home in your coach. Now I understand but, I know that you will have another one in the future–believe me! I was going to remind you to check on the tires for age since I have had absolutely good tire treads that failed because of age and bad bands, but decided that who am I to advise the expert on maintenance. One suggestion that I can offer is for you to check in with Dr. Jack Daniels in Tennessee. He has helped me on some cloudy days with his 80-100 proof medication. You don’t need a prescription and you can get a refill at any time. I routinely check in to Loki’s peaceful activities that calms me down before I check out the bad breaking daily news–keep them coming and all of the neat things that you are always doing around your home. Don’t think that they are not of interest to us all. To all three of you in the “3rd Party”, have a great New Year.
Thank you both for filling in the gap and letting us know how your journey is going. I know this transition from life on the road to settling into a home has been a tough one, and depression can make everything feel heavier. Remember, though, you’re not walking through this alone—Jesus promises to be near to the brokenhearted, and He’s holding you even when you can’t feel it. One of my favorite quotes from Winston Churchill might give you a smile: “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” You three are doing exactly that. You’re still moving, still fighting, still putting one foot in front of the other, and I (plus many others) am proud of you. I heard a great line today: “Faith is a muscle that grows stronger with exercise.” Praying for you and yours to come out the other end of the tunnel soon.
Oh my gosh. I was just going through YT videos and emails trying to remember “the guy with prostate cancer who went to MD Anderson for treatment”. How is that for a memory? My G-dson went to MD Anderson (40yo) for oral cancer treatments. Sadly, it did not go well for him and he passed this last September. Through his treatment course I kept remembering your posts and wondered where you were and how you fared. I’m thrilled to hear that you are still moving forward. I’m saddened to hear that you are struggling with mental health issues. Take this process one moment at a time. Sometimes looking at a full day can just be too much so you need to look at the immediate-right-in-front-of-your-face-present time. You can’t do anything to change what was before and you really have little control of what is to come so grab RIGHT NOW. Keep writing, Keep singing. Keep screaming. I look forward to the next installment. d
Hi, David, Brenda, and Loki,
David, thank you for the candid post. Your honesty is to be admired. Bryan and I met y’all in Southland early on in our travels. Your website and videos helped us so much along the way. We followed your journey at M.D. Anderson. The narrative shared was amazing. I’ve appreciated the photos that have been posted of your location overlooking the Tennessee plateau.
Our daughter moved to Columbia, TN in 2022. They also have a view of the Tennessee hills and gorgeous sunsets from their front porch. I hope you find your environment calming and healing.
May you both continue to enjoy where you are located. You are special to so many of us as the many replies show.
Blessings…..The Blacks
David and Brenda,
Wow. So glad to find your recent (November 2025) blog post. Looked at your channel on YouTube periodically looking for a life update. So really glad to read your update. I met you briefly in Red Bay years ago and watched your channel for updates over the years. Always enjoyed your humorous and informative style.
Best wishes for your mind health issues and that you find the life giving answer you need.
Peace, like no other!
Brenda & Dave,
Glad to see a post. Many of my acquaintances and family that I don’t hear from I can usually track down but find out they had passes. Part of life. Glad you are well enough to fight for your health.
First started following you to lean more about connecting to campground Wi-Fi. Boy has that changed over the last 15 years. We have watched cell service grow with 4G and 5G and the deployment of Starlink. Though many campgrounds still have terrible Wi-Fi others are blazing fast. During our travels over the US and Canada we got to experience these technologies being rolled out. I think you would get a kick out the people using Starlink. It is amazing how many people do not know the difference between cable, cell service, Wi-Fi, etc.
We sold our Allegro RED (vision issues) and bought a smaller Class C (LTV Wonder). Getting out. Just did a LTV Rally in Quartzsite and another one in Las Vegas. Hope you guys get out and travel some. Whatever you do, take care of yourselves.
Thank you both for sharing you knowledge and adventures.
Hey David! Thanks for the many post about your RV travels with Brenda and Loki. Yes life may be all over the place with many things going on. The joy is you guys have each other. No matter what you do you still bleed diesel fuel. Even when you guys were away I still watched your videos as a learning tool. Mainly as my preventive maintenance manuals. Thanks for all you have done to help me through. I leave you with this ; well you can’t send pop tarts through email yet so I have to make up something else so, let’s just switch drives at the rest stop and don’t forget to ask “do you want me to leave it running “.
Stay blessed sir
Leroy
Very sorry that so many ailments are assailing David. I pray that things improve, however slowly and long it takes. Your spot sounds wonderful. We are on my family’s farmland (farmed for decades, but no more) NE of Chattanooga, so some familiarity with your “neck of the woods.” However much or little you have the time and energy to do will be welcome. ‘Tis true whether video, post, picture with caption, or something else. Best wishes and safe travels!
Hey David, was thinking about. you tonight and ended up here and saw this update. Wow thats some changes. But glad you are both still with us.
I was thinking about the good times we had on the cruise.
The world is a different place now. I wish we could go bak to those days.
I hope and wish you both peace and pray you find something to help you feel a little better.
Best,
Scott
